Iconic fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld has died at the age of 85, according to reports.
The French fashion designer passed away following weeks of ill health according to French Closer magazine. Spokespeople for the designer have not yet confirmed the reports.
The news comes after Lagerfeld missed his end-of-show-bow during the Chanel haute couture show in January. In a statement following the show, Chanel said that the designer was "feeling tired" and "asked Virginie Viard, director of the creative studio of the house, to represent him."
It was the first time he had missed an end-of-show bow.
Paris Match reports that Karl was hospitalized on Monday night and passed on Tuesday morning.
The designer was known as one of the most recognizable faces in fashion due to his white hair and dark glasses. He has been the creative director of Chanel since 1983, plus creative director of Fendi and his own eponymous fashion label.
