Even though she is still under stress from her recent diagnosis of chronic spontaneous urticaria, Kris Aquino continues to fight for her legal rights by filing theft cases in seven cities against an unnamed individual—presumably the business partner who reportedly has stolen millions from her.
On an Instagram post yesterday, October 12, 2018, Kris said that she personally went to the Quezon City Office of the Prosecutor to file a qualified theft complaint. Her Fortun Narvasa legal team also went to the prosecutor’s office of six other cities—San Juan, Mandaluyong, Pasig, Makati, Taguig, and Manila—to do the same.
Kris wrote, “I continue to have faith that the Philippines’ justice system will uphold the law with impartiality and fairness. My legal teams met with his representatives in an attempt to settle amicably, but in straightforward language, cumare bears sila. My family advocated for peace, BUT the other party failed to even meet us halfway, and instead chose to spread malicious lies and falsehoods...I wanted to quietly put this painful chapter behind me...kilala niyo na po ako—hindi ako ang nagsisimula ng away, pero hindi po ako pinalaki para urungan ang pakikipaglaban para sa katotohanan. Sinimulan niyo, kaya tatapusin ko.”
The video post, which plays Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do” in the background, also flashes lines like “Never lie to someone who trusts you, and never trust someone who lies to you,” “Loyalty and respect go both ways. If they don’t return it, they don’t deserve it,” and “Not all storms come to disrupt your life. Some come to clear your path.” The video ends with photos of Kris at the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office filing the theft case.
For now, the only mention of the people implicated in the case comes from an Instagram post Kris shared on September 29, 2018. She said, “Betrayal in any form is heartbreaking, but the attempt of this man and his brother—who has never met or even conversed with me in any form—to alter FACTS by deceitfully and maliciously attacking my family’s honor and credibility strengthened my resolve to use all legal means for TRUTH TO WIN.”
