According to a report posted on January 16, 2020 by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), Taal Volcano’s activity has generally decreased to "weak emission of steam-laden plumes 700 meters high that dispersed ash to the southwest." However, Taal remains to be on Alert Level 4, which means a hazardous explosive eruption is still possible.
The Batangas and Cavite areas are famous being go-to wedding venues because of their picturesque views and beautiful churches. But because of damages caused by Taal Volcano’s recent eruptive activity, couples who have planned to hold their upcoming weddings in the areas now have to make some major changes.
In line with this, the Manila Cathedral has opened its doors for couples whose wedding plans were affected by the Taal Volcano eruption. In a Facebook post, they stated that they are “opening slots and extending assistance for weddings scheduled this January and February 2020."
Couples who are interested and would like to transfer their wedding plans to the Manila Cathedral may visit their office or call them at (02) 8 527-3093.
