It may be back to work for most on June 1.

The COVID-19 inter-agency task force (IATF) has formally recommended placing Metro Manila under general community quarantine (GCQ) from June 1 to 15 to President Rodrigo Duterte, according to DILG Secretary Eduardo Año. (Via CNN Philippines)

Certain high-risk barangays will still be under total lockdown and Cebu City will remain under modified enhanced community quarantine (MEQC). Mass transport, except for jeepneys, and most businesses, except for leisure establishments, may operate again.

President Duterte, who has the final say on whether to approve, reject, or amend the IATF's recommendation, is set to address the nation tonight.

Based on the Department of Health's May 27 report, there are a total of 15,049 cases in the country, with 10,639 active cases, 3,506 recoveries, and 904 deaths.
