Merlin's beard! You can now enter the Potterverse as Pokémon Go developer Niantic has just released their version of the AR smash hit, this time with Harry Potter: Wizards Unite.
It's almost like Pokémon Go, but not quite.
In the game, players have to deal with the "Calamity," a scenario wherein magic has officially entered the Muggle world.
You need to catch magical creatures (aka "fantastic beasts") like the discombobulated Niffler, pixies, Howlers, and more, to send them back to the wizarding world. Gotta catch 'em all! You'll also need to deal with dark wizards and witches, as well as Dementors.
Similar to Pokéstops, you can rest and recover spellcasting energy at Inns. You can even brew your own potions. We can't wait to totally geek out and use charms like "Protego" and "Expecto Patronum!"
Harry Potter: Wizards Unite was launched for download in the US and in the UK on June 21. It's been rolled out in the Philippines too and it's free. The game is available on the App Store, Google Play and the Samsung Galaxy Store.
