Commuting in the Philippines is really, really difficult. Even with the various modes of public transportation available to us such as jeepneys, buses, tricycles, and trains, it's still not easy to brave the Metro Manila traffic. You could leave *super early* and still be stuck for three hours along EDSA, or the train could break down in the middle of the trip—talk about commuting horror stories!

Thankfully, Angkas, a motorcycle hailing service that started in 2016, came to the rescue. This total game-changer could bring you right away to your destination, minus the long lines at the MRT and LRT stations, that siksikan jeepney ride, or that hour-long traffic by the yellow lane in EDSA.

Angkas is also like that funny and sassy friend who is always there for you. They've helped us beat the traffic, amused us with their funny tweets, and even gave free rides when the LRT-2 had to temporarily stop their operations. This is why Pinays love them so much!

However, there's bad newsaccording to an official statement from their Facebook and Twitter accounts, around 17,000 of their bikers would lose their jobs come 2020, due to the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB)'s decision to cut down their bikers from 27,000 to 10,000.

They said, "Your everyday heroes in traffic will enter this Christmas season not knowing whether they will have money to feed their families next year... That's a direct blow to over 17,000 Filipino families."

They're asking for support from the people to #SaveAngkas. "Now, at our time of need, we humbly ask that you share this message and help our bikers keep their jobs. Help us #SaveAngkas so we and our bikers can help save you again every day."
