If you've always wanted to visit Taiwan, you've got another year to go without the need for a visa. Taiwan just extended Filipinos' visa-free privileges for another year, from August 1, 2019 to July 31, 2020.
According to the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO), you can stay for up to 14 days without applying for a visa as long as you 1) have a passport valid for at least six months from the date of entry, 2) have a confirmed plane or boat ticket out of Taiwan, 3) provide confirmation of your accommodations and your financial statements, and 4) have a clean criminal record as verified by Taiwan’s immigration upon your arrival. The visa-free entry is not extendable and begins on the following day of your arrival.
Since Taiwan introduced the visa-free entry policy for Filipinos in November 2017, more Filipinos have visited the country. TECO reported that 419,000 Filipinos visited Taiwan in 2018, a 44% increase from the previous year.
