News flash: everyone can enjoy singlehood by choice and it's not something to be frowned upon.

For content creator Crisha Uy, being single opened ~many~ doors for her, to rediscover not just herself but also life in general.

"Ngayon ko lang na-embrace 'yung single life dahil ilang years din ako in a relationship. Marami akong na-discover sa sarili ko na kaya ko palang mag-desisyon mag-isa,” she said in a media interview with

ICYDK, the content creator was in an 8-year relationship with actor Joem Bascon before they called it quits in December 2019.

The content creator shared that the key to completely moving on from past relationships is to enjoy life to the fullest.

"I-enjoy mo lang 'yung life. Naisip ko din na siguro hindi mo na patagalin kung nakikita mo na na hindi kayo para sa isa’t isa, 'wag mo nang patagalin. You can live alone naman. You have to listen to your intuition," Crisha declared

Four years after their controversial breakup, Crisha has discovered how she can be more than capable of standing on her own two feet. "I feel good kasi may freedom 'yung feeling talaga," the content creator remarked.

Coming from a long-term relationship also made her realize what she wanted for her next relationship. She is not closing her doors to love, but she is also not rushing into anything.

Crisha said she wants someone she can grow old and have a promising future.

“Actually wala ngayon pero siyempre nag-date ako. Wala akong dine-date ngayon pero nag-date ako 'nong past few years pero hindi ko nakikita 'yung sarili ko sa taong 'yon habang buhay. So, bakit pa kailangan patagalin? Kasi gusto kong mag-boyfriend na siya na ‘yong makakasama ko habang buhay,” quoted her as saying.

Despite the growing acceptance of singlehood, there still exists a societal stigma around it, particularly for women. However, Crisha's journey challenges this notion, showing that singlehood can be a choice and a fulfilling one at that

Now, Crisha always aims to have fun in her life, saying that her failed relationships are now just a part of her story—but it will never be her end game. "Alam mo 'yung parang kwento na lang siya. Next chapter na kasi eh so parang anong next?"

This newfound independence, self-love, and personal growth as a single woman has been a liberating experience for Crisha, and she is relishing every moment of it.
