Dating app Tinder has released a new way for people to express how much they like a person called the "Super Like." Appearing as a blue star button located on the rightmost part of a user's profile, the option adds to the app's signature "swipe left" and "swipe right" functions. For those who don't use Tinder, swiping right means you like a person, and swiping left means you don't. The "Super Like," which can be performed by swiping up, means what it means: You don't just like a person, you super like them.
Users will be granted a limited number of "Super Likes" (info regarding exact amount hasn't been made public) to make sure that men don't attempt to flatter every woman they see. Tinder CEO Sean Rad believes that this can greatly influence one's decision.
"Because they're so limited in number, a 'Super Like,' or a 'swipe up,' sends a more powerful signal, conveying an especially high level of interest," Sean said. "People like to know that someone finds them special, and we think this will lead to even better matches," he added.
