Trusting someone with your heart isn’t always the easiest thing to do—especially if you’ve been burned in the past or if you have a tendency to worry about everything. Many relationships don’t survive due to a lack of trust, and most of the time, people fail to communicate their feelings, either because they don’t want to or they don’t know how.
BuzzFeed interviewed four couples, both short-term and long-term, on the trust issues they’re currently facing, and advised them to do one thing: hug… for four minutes. A simple hug “can release oxytocin, which makes us feel bonded with a person, increasing feelings such as connection and trust.”
So the next time you’re feeling anxious or uncertain about your relationship, give bae a giant bear hug. It might just save your relationship.
