A woman writing under the assumed name Lily Temperley has a new book out call Sex, Lies & Banking, detailing what is basically a real-life Fifty Shades of Grey scenario that happened to her. Turns out it's a lot creepier in real life [via Daily Mail].
According to the book, Temperley was a low-level banker at one of London's major banks. The man she calls Patrick Harrington (excellent sexy power name) was a senior executive—a married senior executive. Over several staff drinking outings, Harrington wooed Temperley and talked her into getting dinner with him. He offered her all-expense paid trips and brought her fancy presents.
"I was very resistant initially because I knew where it was going to lead, but I eventually just got won over by expensive gifts and amazing holidays," she told the Mail, sounding very Anastasia-esque. "I do have my head screwed on and I wanted to pursue a career and settle down, but my head got turned."
Like Christian, Harrington revamped her wardrobe with sexy, designer outfits, and knew all her sizes by heart.
But then shit got creepy.
"Once, I went to the nail salon at work and I came back with a French manicure," Temperley said. "He said to me, 'I told you to get red.' He was very controlling."
He started inviting her to swingers parties and orgies. Eventually, he became so overbearing that she decided to quit her job, move, and change her phone number and email address to get out of the relationship.
"It proved to be difficult for a good 18 months afterwards," she said. "He couldn't handle that he wasn't in control of this situation—he always had to be in control."
Sounds a lot more awful and terrifying than Christian's erotic power struggle with Anastasia's inner goddess.
