If you've already asked your partner the 36 questions that will make you fall in love and it worked and you got married, but you want to be sure they're really The One, there are only two questions you need to ask [via Daily Mail].
A new study by University of Virginia economists Leora Friedberg and Steven Stern asked 4,242 couples, "How happy are you in your marriage relative to how happy you would be if you weren't in the marriage?" and, "How do you think your spouse answered that question?" and then asked those couples the same questions six years later.
They found that most couples who said life wouldn't be any different if they were still single had broken up by the time they asked the question six years later and that people who thought their partners were happier than they actually were usually ended up divorced.
Good things to keep in mind the next time you're feeling like having a Serious Talk at, like, 1 a.m. because that's usually when Serious Talks happen.
