The holidays are fraught with conversational land mines. And we all know very, very well just how direct our favorite titas can be. “Are you dating anyone?” “‘Di ka naman pangit, bakit single ka pa rin?”

As much as we'd like to preach to them about polite conversation, these topics are, frankly, unavoidable. But, hey, that's not all there is to being single! Here, we list some of the best reasons why Christmas is better when you’re your awesome single self:

1. You’ll have more time for yourself and your loved ones.
During the holiday season, it's easy to feel like there’s just not enough hours in a day to finish everything you have to do. And since work usually doubles or triples during the holidays, it's not uncommon to feel like you're always pressed for time. Add that to the long list of parties you need to attend and the crazy traffic you have to endure, and you’ll be so grateful for every minute you can devote to your friends and family.

2. Money, money, money!
You get to save more when you don't have to set aside money for date night or a pricey gift. You can squander your Christmas bonus on better stuff, like kris kringle presents for your squad, gifts for your family and relatives, and a holiday splurge for yourself!

3. A time for renewal
The year-end days are typically reserved for self-reflection and goal setting. Having time for yourself will make you more appreciative of those who cherish and support you. More importantly, it inspires you to focus on the areas of your life that can be improved like your career, relationships, and hobbies. With everything that’s keeping you busy, you don’t have to worry about the so-called gaping hole in your heart!

4. Indulge without the guilt
You survived 2017, so treat yourself by indulging in all the ice cream, cake, and fruit salad you want! While you’re at it, you should also try McDonald’s seasonal McFlurry flavors, Sans Rival and Oreo Matcha. You can also get McDo’s classic desserts like the Oreo McFlurry, Hot Fudge and Caramel Sundaes, and the McFloat, for a quick sugar fix. Watch the video below to see how sweet it can be to be single this Christmas:

Who needs a man when you already have so much love and sweetness in your life, right?
