South Korea, represent: CL and BLACKPINK's Rosé just made history as the first female K-pop idols to grace the Met Gala!
The annual fundraising event is the counterpart of the Oscars when it comes to fashion and it gathers celebrities, models, and designers at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Here, the top stars attend an exhibit, raise funds, and dress up according to the event's theme. For 2021, the concept of the Met Gala (also known as the Met Ball) highlights the best of American fashion.
Over the years, a number of male K-pop stars have attended the Met Gala, including PSY, Rain, Super Junior's Siwon, and EXO's Lay. This year marks a new milestone with two K-pop queens walking down the red carpet of fashion's biggest night. It's also worth noting that CL and Rosé are former labelmates under YG Entertainment.
The ~baddest female,~ CL (who just made her comeback, BTW), went to the Met Gala in a blue denim coat with a hanbok knot over a white brief by Alexander Wang. In case you're interested, the undies she wore cost $148 or around P7,300.
BLACKPINK member Rosé was clad in YSL and came to the Met Gala with the luxury brand's creative director, Anthony Vaccarello. She wore a black dress with an asymmetrical white bow, and paired it with black platform pumps—and yes, our jaws were *on the ground.* The LBD is part of YSL's Fall 2021 Collection and has no price yet, but Rosie's high heels are at $845 or around P42,000 (which she also posted on her IG stories).

Is it just us or are you also looking forward to an interaction between these queens? Let us know in the comment section!
