Holiday Fashion: Head-Turning Designer Pieces

Three local designers pulled out all the stops to create outfits that will make you stand out in all your upcoming holiday parties. See runway photos.

We have Philippine Fashion Week to look forward to again this month, when local fashion brands and designers will present their collections for, wait for it, Summer 2012! How time flies in fashion, right? You can look forward to seeing the runway galleries time for when you start planning your summer outfits.

In the meantime, however, we can now finally show you the clothes that were the stars of Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2011, to help you now plan the many outfits you'll need to stock up on for all your Christmas/year-end parties. Yes, 'tis the season for going glam once again!

In this gallery, you'll see the attention-grabbing pieces created by designers Arnold Galang, Chris Diaz, and Gerry Katigbak. Note the trends you'll find in each of their creations, to guide you when you go shopping for clothes in your fave stores.

Arnold Galang's collection
Outfits: Dresses, tops, slacks, long skirts, and jumpsuits
Colors: Red, orange, blue, and green
Accessories: Bold necklaces with round pendants or belts with circular buckles
Shoes: Bright-colored clogs

Chris Diaz's collection
Outfits: Dresses and gowns, including a silver figure-hugging number worn by a bearded Marina Benipayo at the finale
Darker shades of red, blue, brown, and orange, with gold, rust, and silver accents
Accessories: Medieval-inspired pieces

Gerry Katigbak's collection
Outfits: Loud-colored blazers for men, collared ensembles cinched at the waist, sequined party dresses, elegant outfits made of sheer material, lace, and beads
Colors: White and black, with romantic textured patterns and a hint of red
Accessories: Wide belts
