“Fashionalism” is one of the newest "it" terms, which combines fashion and nationalism--the new black. With this, clothing brands signed on designers to create pieces inspired by everything Filipino, from South Sea pearls to the Philippine map. If we were to name one particular designer who really propagated fashionalism in the country, it would have to be famous fashion designer Rhett Eala, with his signature Philippine map-on-shirt design.
Rhett celebrated his 20th anniversary in the industry with a star-studded event that was held in Whitespace, Makati. There he presented his guests with an awe-inspiring fashion show in partnership with two brands very close to him: local retail brand Collezione-C2 and Filipino-French company specializing in South Sea pearls, Jewelmer. Known for his love for art, culture, and nationalism, Rhett created clothes that would bring out the artist and patriotism in every Filipino.
