Fashion marketplace Lyst.com came out with some pretty cool infographics about the trends that really mattered in 2014, based on consumers' buying habits.
The results aren't suprising. According to their data team, mini skirts sold more than knee-lenth, midi, and maxi skirts in 2014; women bought a LOT of capes; and users searched for "boyfriend jeans" more this year than in 2013.
A couple of things we found surprising? Lyst ladies ditched floral prints for animal prints; blue was the most popular color for bikinis; red was the "most returned color" of the year; and the leather bomber jacket was the most sold leather item in the market.
Oh, and even if Radiant Orchid was 2014's Pantone Color of the Year, it certainly wasn't the most popular hue—black was (and we blame normcore for this).
Lyst shoppers spent their money on designer brands like Yves Saint Laurent, Valentino, Burberry, Givenchy, and Isabel Marant. And the most searched brands in website were Prada, Givenchy, Gucci, Burberry, and Valentino.
How about you, CGs? What was your favorite fashion trend in 2014?
