There May Soon Be A Bra That Detects Breast Cancer

This would be SO helpful.

CGs, you will want to read this.

According to Fusion, scientists at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia are in the process of testing a bra that is able to detect breast cancer. It features infrared sensors that record breast temperatures—anything too warm could indicate anomalous cells that require more blood.

“The body needs to send more blood to that specific part of the body, and the temperature of this organ increases,” said Maria Camila Cortes, an electrical engineering student working on the prototype.

If any abnormality occurs, the bra will send a warning signal to alert the wearer. Either one of three small lights will light up: a green light which indicates there’s nothing wrong, a yellow light which means the wearer should conduct another test, and a red light which urges the user to consult with a doctor.

An appointment with a doctor is crucial when it comes to such health concerns, and the developers stressed that they are not trying to replace analyses that come from a qualified doctor. “The idea is to develop a technique that will help with [early] detection,” scientist Maria Jaramillo explained.
