Star Style: 4 Everyday Fashion Tips From Phoemela Baranda

...and holiday dressing ideas from local clothing brand Get Laud’s newest celebrity endorser.
If you haven’t bought your collection of holiday dresses yet for all the parties you’ll be attending in the next couple of weeks, here are some elements you need to watch for when picking out the perfect party outfit: drapes, jumpsuits, minis, goddess necklines, shine, zippers, and lines and ruffles—all of which can take you from casual to glam, day to night (after all, you’re probably heading straight to your parties from work, right?).

These are the same trends you'll find when you check out local clothing brand Get Laud’s latest collection for the holidays, which they introduced along with their newest celebrity endorser: TV Host and Model Phoemela Baranda. We put some key pieces from the collection in a gallery, which you can view by clicking on the gallery button below. But you might want to take a few everyday dressing tips first from Phoem, who has been a Pinay fashion icon for more than a decade now.

1. Mix and match. “I try to avoid wearing the same outfit twice. My secret is to mix and match, especially my favorite pieces like a printed skirt or trousers. I can create different looks by changing my top or adding a blazer or changing my shoes and bag.”

2. Stretch your budget. “During hard times, you don't have to sacrifice your look. Local retail stores are already up to date and comparable to imported brands.”

3. Dress appropriately for the occasion. “Making a statement is different from dressing outrageously. Always comply with the dress code but jazz up your outfit with the latest accessories.”

4. Keep it clean and make sure everything is in place. “One thing I can’t stand is a dirty shoe. Always check if your dress is well pressed and check if everything is in place. You don't want to be seen in a dress with flaws like bulges or if your dress is missing a button.”
