Angelina Cruz Reveals Why She's Not Allowed To Move Out Just Yet

Angelina Cruz is turning 26 on September 24, and she’s entering another chapter of adulthood. But while having a place of her own is something Angelina would love to experience, she says that's not quite an option for her just yet.

In an exclusive interview with PEP.ph on August 26, Angelina shared that having her own condo is something she would love to experience, especially because of the freedom that comes with having your own space. "I really love the idea of being able to design your own space," she said.

In fact, she once brought up the idea with her mom, actress Sunshine Cruz, saying, "I even asked my mom…just for the fun of it."

Turns out, Sunshine already had her answer ready. Angelina explained that her mom is pretty traditional when it comes to living arrangements and has a specific condition for when her daughter can finally move out. "My mom told me that she’s very traditional, and she told me that she wants me to live at home until I get married or engaged," Angelina said.

There are, however, some exceptions, especially when moving away would make sense for her schooling. "Unless, you know, I study abroad or, like, let's say I study hours away," she added.

For now, Angelina is still based at home while continuing her studies. She graduated from De La Salle University in February 2025 with a degree in Marketing Management, and she's currently taking a course in interior design at SoFA Design Institute in Makati. She last starred in The Alibi in 2025.

While she may not have her own condo to decorate just yet, Angelina is already figuring out the other parts of adulting, including how to handle her money. As she shared with PEP.ph, Angelina also thinks about how she approaches her finances. "I'm still saving. And I'm still deciding what to invest on," she said.

And when Angelina does spend on shopping, she has a few rules for making sure her purchases are worth it. She describes herself as a "bag girl," and when it comes to choosing a bag, she knows exactly what catches her attention. "If its silhouette is something versatile but also interesting, I think that's what makes me drawn to a bag," she shared.

In another interview, Angelina explained that bags have become one of her go-to style accessories. "I feel like that's just something I like to throw on when I don't feel like dressing up too much," she said.

But she still has a few rules on whether the product is actually worth the splurge. "Make sure that it has good quality and that it can last years, and that it's versatile, so it can match any outfit," she said.

And because we all know how easy it is for a shopping habit to get a little out of hand, Angelina has also set a limit for herself. She shared that she has a yearly quota of around "two or three bags max" per year, depending on the price.

She doesn't set a specific peso amount for her purchases, explaining, "The rule of thumb for me when it comes to spending on anything would have to be a very small fraction of my paycheck." She adds, "If, you know, it doesn't reach that amount, then it just goes to my savings."

So, while Angelina may have to wait a little longer before she gets the keys to a place she can call her own, it looks like she's already learning how to make the most of her independence.
