Coleen Garcia is now a mom of two—and she says baby number two came into the world way easier than she expected. In fact, it was her smoothest delivery yet!
Coleen opted for a planned water birth, which has been proven to be less painful for the laboring mother. ICYDK, Coleen also chose to do the same for her firstborn, Amari, in 2020.
In an Instagram post uploaded on September 1, Coleen detailed her fast and unexpected childbirth. She was already in active labor, but the signs weren't the full-on "the baby's coming" type of labor. "I was still walking around, killing time, feeling totally normal," Coleen described.
Until she felt a wave of painful contractions that triggered her transfer to the delivery room. "When we got to the room, I stood up from the wheelchair, took a couple of steps toward the bed, then suddenly felt a tiny urge to push while I was still standing," she narrated.
Then, she added, "I did once, just a little, for relief—until I felt his head coming out. I had to stop mid-push and say the baby was coming! My mom quickly got down to check, and true enough, part of his head was already out!"
On her next push, their second baby was born to the world. They named him Austin. "It all happened so fast," Coleen admitted. "I gave birth like two minutes after entering the delivery room... all I could say was: 'Well, that happened.'" 😅
