American tennis player Desirae Krawczyk, who reached a career-high doubles ranking of No. 8 in the Women's Tennis Association, has confirmed that when it comes to fangirling, Filipinos just never disappoint. Desirae, whose mother is a Filipina, shared that her mom is such a huge fan of Alex Eala—to the point that she almost forgot about her own daughter's match just to watch the rising tennis star.

During an episode of the The Player's Box Podcast alongside fellow tennis players Madison Keys, Jessica Pegula, and Jennifer Brady, Desirae talked about a hilarious story about her Filipina mom being the biggest fan of Alex.

"My mom's Filipino, so she's crazy about Alex. And she's like, 'I'm going to come watch her when she plays on Thursday.' And I was like, 'Mom, I'm going to be playing on Thursday,'" Desirae shared.

"She's like, 'Oh, oh, yes, you too. Yes, yes. I'm going to come watch you too,'" the tennis star narrated.

Desirae also revealed that her mother once went to a practice session on her own without telling her—later admitting that she went there in the hopes of watching Alex. She added that her mom was eager to meet the Filipina tennis player and even planned to bring her Filipino food, particularly lumpia and pancit.

"My mom went to U.S. Open last year and Alex was obviously huge then, and she was like, 'Oh, my gosh, I want to see Alex. Maybe I'll get a picture with her. But I also want a picture with Jenny. I want a picture with everyone,'" Desirae recalled.

"And I was like, 'OK, mom, let's take it one at a time.' But then obviously, when she knew Alex was playing at India Wells, she's like, 'I'm going to make her pancit, which is a famous noodle dish in the Philippines, and then lumpia, which is like these egg rolls,'" she added.

This is not the first time Alex's Filipino fans have made waves on the Internet. Most recently, their strong presence was felt during one of Alex's matches at Indian Wells against American opponent Coco Gauff.

After the match—which Alex won after Coco was forced to retire due to an unexpected arm injury—the American tennis star expressed her appreciation for the sportsmanship Alex showed. Coco also acknowledged the Filipino fans in the crowd who had been enthusiastically supporting the young Filipina throughout the match.

"I know you were mostly supporting Alex but I have to say, it's great to be on a crowded court. I've played this tournament for many years, and to see the stadium full… it means a lot. I'd like to thank Alex for bringing a new demographic to the sport. It's great," Coco said.

"Sometimes it's tough when you're playing against a home crowd. I think it's great for the sport. Keep being enthusiastic and keep rooting for your player," she added.
