Frankie Pangilinan Says She And Sister KC Concepcion Haven't Spoken "In A Really Long Time"

Frankie Pangilinan, a.k.a. Kakie, is making one thing very clear when it comes to her relationship with her half-sister, KC Concepcion: She has always considered her family.

The 25-year-old daughter of Sharon Cuneta and Senator Kiko Pangilinan recently opened up about KC during an interview with talent manager Ogie Diaz, where she shared that she continues to see KC as her sister despite the distance between them.

"I think out of respect for my parents, I may not divulge so much information, but I can say this confidently: she's my sister," Frankie said.

ICYDK, Sharon welcomed her eldest daughter, KC, with her former partner Gabby Concepcion. Sharon later married Kiko, with whom she has three children: Frankie, Miel, and their youngest son, Miguel.

Frankie also addressed the way some people talk about her relationship with KC, particularly when they emphasize that the two are only half-sisters. "I don't know why people try to detract or ano, never ko pong pinag-isipan na–or never ko pong naisip na half sister ko siya," she said.

While Frankie acknowledged that she understands the biological distinction people point out, she said it has never changed the way she feels about KC. "Of course, you know, biologically, that's true, but as far as I'm concerned, I love her very much. I love my sister very much, and I think I can say, 'I miss my sister very much,'" she shared.

Frankie also admitted that she and KC have not spoken much in a long time. Still, she made it clear that the distance does not mean her feelings toward her older sister have changed.

"We haven't really spoken in a long time. Of course, I think, every family naman has, you know, and I think that like…some things—we're working on it. But I want to make that very clear. I've always loved my Ate. I love my Ate so much," she said.

Their relationship has been a topic of public interest for years. In 2023, KC told Boy Abunda that she had unfollowed her stepfather Kiko and half-sister Frankie on Instagram for her "peace of mind." She clarified at the time that the decision did not mean she "unloves" them.

In that same year, Sharon has also spoken about the situation, expressing her hurt while maintaining that KC will always be her daughter and will always have a place in their family. "Our home has always included her," Sharon said. She also added, "Lahat ng decision ko sa buhay noong araw [were] because of KC. She was my whole world."

Frankie, meanwhile, shared that she still makes an effort to include KC in their family celebrations, even if they are not currently in contact. "Every time I order birthday cakes nga po for my mom or dad, inuuna ko pa po yung pangalan niya even if we haven't, you know, we haven't seen or spoken to each other in a really long time," she said.

Meanwhile, Frankie is also entering a new chapter of her own as she prepares to make her acting debut in the upcoming film Edjop alongside Jodi Sta. Maria and Elijah Canlas. It's set to hit cinemas nationwide on September 16, 2026.
