LOL! Kara David Showed Up A Day Early To Our Women Of Influence Event—Here's What Happened

Nothing quite beats the energy of Cosmopolitan Philippines Women of Influence 2026 Mind Opener Kara David. And this time, it showed in the most unexpected way. So excited for the awarding night, she ended up arriving at the venue a day early!
ICYMI, the Cosmopolitan Philippines Women of Influence Recognition Dinner officially took place on March 24, 2026. (Take note of the date!) The annual event celebrates Filipinas who are making an impact across different fields and breaking gender stereotypes—which exactly makes Kara a perfect fit for this year's list.
In a video she posted on March 23, Kara shared during one of her usual night runs how her excitement got the best of her. She recalled how she arrived at the venue in Solaire Resort North earlier that evening—one full day ahead of the actual event! 😂
"Alam niyo po, mga two hours ago, naka-full makeup ako. A-attend kasi sana ako ng awarding ceremonies ng Cosmo Philippines Women of Influence. So, nagbihis ako, makeup. Tapos, nag-drive ako papunta ng Solaire," Kara opened.
"Pagdating ko dun sa lobby ng hotel, ganda-ganda ng outfitan ko. Punta ako sa reception. Tapos, tinanong ko, 'Saan po dito yung Cosmo Philippines event?' Ayun, sabi sa akin ng receptionist, 'Ma'am, bukas pa po yung awarding nila,'" she recalled.
That's when Kara realized the mistake. The journalist and awardee laughed it off and decided to quite literally run the predicament away during her usual night run.
Good thing, though, she made it right on time for the actual event the day after and even documented her attendance. Dressed in her hot pink (a.k.a. Cosmo pink!) jumpsuit that perfectly matched the night's theme, Kara headed to the venue.
She joked that she was finally on the right schedule. But beyond the funny mishaps, the night proved to be much more meaningful because, not only did she make it, she also took the stage and delivered a powerful speech that became one of the highlights of the ceremony.
"Makakaasa po kayo na hangga't may mga tiwali sa pamahalaan, hangga't may mga maliit na pinagkakaitan ng karapatan, hangga't may mga batang kailangan pang magtrabaho para lang makapag-aral, hangga't may mga babaeng inaabuso, hindi po ako titigil at hindi tayo dapat tumigil sa pagku-kwento," Kara delivered.
"Hindi ako titigil na gamitin ang aking boses at kaalaman para mapakinggan ang hindi napapakinggan," she added.
A little mix-up didn't matter—because when it was time to take the stage, Kara showed exactly why she's a Woman of Influence.
