We're one loveteam down this year: Alexa Ilacad officially confirmed on May 13 that the KDLex loveteam, her on-screen pairing with KD Estrada, will be parting ways.

Their official fan page, KDLex International Sweethearts, released a statement on X (formerly Twitter) announcing the big news. The post notes that the tandem has made this mutual decision considering the "circumstances, external factors, and the people surrounding them."

While KD hasn't written any messages so far, Alexa has reposted the fan page's announcement with a heartfelt note expressing her love and appreciation to all their fans. "And no matter who you choose to support, as long as RESPECT REMAINS, I will continue to love and appreciate all of you," she said.

In the official statement, they mentioned that "though their journey as a pairing has come to an end, the respect, care, and friendship between them remain."

A Quick Recap Of Alexa Ilacad And KD Estrada's Loveteam

Long-time fans know that KDLex's story began during Pinoy Big Brother: Kumunity Season 10, where Alexa and KD first connected as housemates. Viewers quickly picked up on their chemistry, and after leaving the show in 2022, the two officially became a loveteam that fans continued to support both online and offline.

Not long after, KD and Alexa began landing projects together. One of their first major team-ups was the 2022 digital series Run To Me, where fans got to see their natural chemistry translate onscreen beyond reality TV.

A year later, they reunited in the 2023 family drama Pira-Pirasong Paraiso, further cementing their place as one of the younger tandems viewers closely followed at the time.

As their careers continued to grow, the two also stepped outside the usual television setup and ventured into theater. In 2023, KD and Alexa starred in PETA's hit musical Walang Aray, a fresh and playful adaptation of Severino Reyes' classic zarzuela Walang Sugat. The production gave the audience a glimpse of a different side of the pair, especially as they took on the challenge of live stage performances while juggling their acting and music careers.

Their collaborations did not stop there. In October 2024, the two once again worked together on the music video for "Be With U," a project that leaned into the warm, youthful dynamic fans had come to love since their PBB days.

Still, many fans began speculating earlier this year after noticing that KD and Alexa were no longer appearing in joint projects as often as before. And online conversations grew even louder when KD became linked with Mia Bella, his castmate in Bagets The Musical, a stage adaptation inspired by the coming-of-age movie. The production officially opened in 2026, with KD taking on one of the lead roles in the youthful ensemble cast.

At the height of the issue, some social media users accused KD of supposedly "replacing" Alexa with a new on-screen partner. KD later addressed the issue himself, calling out fabricated stories circulating online and reminding people not to spread hate toward the actresses involved. He also made it clear that not everything people read online reflects the truth off-camera.

Meanwhile, Alexa has been steadily building her own career outside of loveteam projects. This year, she showcased her versatility once again on Your Face Sounds Familiar, where viewers saw her take on different performances and transformations week after week. She also joined the cast of Miss Behave as Marla, which will be released this June on iWant TV.

Most recently, Alexa starred alongside Gelo Rivera in The Chambermaid's Daughter, ABS-CBN Studios' first vertical drama series, which also premiered on iWant last April 30.

While the end of KDLex may feel emotional for long-time supporters, both KD and Alexa seem ready to step into a new chapter individually.
