It's Hot Girl Summer For Kyline Alcantara, But She's Keeping Her Cool
She's letting her wins do the talking.
Published on Apr 23, 2025
We're well into summer, and the temp has been soaring past 40—but on one particularly sweltering Tuesday, Kyline Alcantara stepped onto set like the sun was her personal spotlight. The heat that day was relentless, thick in the air and impossible to ignore. But then came Kyline. She moved through the day like the quiet breeze that danced against the scorch: soft but certain, calm yet purposeful, sure of the direction she was heading.

Kyline arrived at the suite with a warm, down-to-earth presence that instantly made the space feel welcoming. After a few friendly exchanges, she headed to the glam area, where her team greeted her with tight hugs and easy laughter. The familiar energy helped Kyline settle in and find her rhythm for the day, even though she wasn't feeling 100%.
Just before noon, Kyline was already in prep mode, getting glammed up and mentally preparing for her first Cosmopolitan Philippines cover. In the midst of it all, the Cosmo team handed her a pillow inspired by her favorite chocolate snack. "Chocnut!" she exclaimed, her face lighting up. "Ang cute, oh my gosh," she added. It was the perfect little surprise to kick off a shoot that ended up lasting nearly 10 hours—but who's counting?
Despite the long day, Kyline was all in. It was her quiet composure and grace that really stood out—a complementing contrast against her signature smile (dimples included), endless fun energy, and a fierce focus until we got all the shots we needed.

From the moment she stepped in front of the camera, one thing was clear: Kyline is driven by an unstoppable passion to keep her hot streak going. While this season is usually all about vacations and getaways, for the always-on 22-year-old, what truly matters is that it's a time of self-discovery.
In other words, it's Kyline's hot girl summer—confident, thriving in her element, and too busy living her best life to let anything—or anyone—dim her shine.
It wasn't my first time meeting Kyline, but that day felt like a fresh start—like the first day of a summer trip where I got to know her a little better. "Summer ko before, it's always in Bicol. We were always making halo-halo in front of our tindahan with my grandparents. Ako yung nagkakaskas ng yelo, I enjoy that," she happily shared, reminiscing about her childhood summers.
Of course, things have changed since then. Now, despite her busy schedule, Kyline makes it a point to visit her hometown, and with Holy Week falling around the same time as summer, she never misses out on Visita Iglesia—a tradition close to her heart.
As for summer getaways this year, nothing's set in stone just yet, she says. But she's keeping her schedule open even for last-minute trips with friends. "I would love to have plans, but I don't have any because we're starting a new show. So for now, wala muna. But you'll never know baka may biglang aya ang aking mga kaibigan. G naman ako," she said with a smile.

She made it look easy, staying cool as ever—even while posing on a heart-shaped floaty buoyed by the wind in the middle of a pool. Not once did she waver or say, "I can't." She went with the flow.
Doing an outdoor shoot would likely be one of those moments when work felt light and enjoyable for Kyline, especially given how early she entered the showbiz scene. "There are days that you feel like you're just playing, but there's a sense of responsibility early on since you know that there are lines to memorize, you have to internalize, and there's a blocking that you need to be aware of," she tells Cosmo.

On some days, her days on set was also her school. "My co-actors who are older than me will teach me ways to be a better actor and person," Kyline shared. And that's how we got to see a deeper side of Kyline—she's more than just the actress we admire on screen; she's a young woman with a clear vision for her career.
At just 22, she's steadily carving out her place in the industry. Kyline has taken on countless roles that pushed her limits, even earning the title of La Nueva Kontrabida. Admittedly, she says she's drawn to antagonist roles because of how challenging they can get for her.
She shares with us what attracts her to a role, saying, "[It's] the complexity of the character that really draws me into those types of roles because there's a lot of layers, meaning there's a lot of challenges also. There are a lot of little nuances that you need to show subtly, and that's kinda hard. Sabi nga nila, the mata-mata acting, that's what I love."

Kyline is riding the wave all the way. She's gearing up for her next big role as Shari de Jesus in the highly anticipated, star-studded series Beauty Empire. When asked why she took the role, Kyline didn't hesitate: "It was so well-written that I just cannot skip it," she says.
More than just another project, Beauty Empire felt like the perfect opportunity for Kyline to take on bigger, more impactful roles—ones that would truly leave a lasting impression. "I'm looking for different challenges in my acting career, and it feels like Beauty Empire is the new start of it," she says. "It will be the catalyst for how I will choose my roles in the future."
Just days before our shoot with Kyline, it was revealed that she had already started filming for the series, alongside a powerhouse cast including Barbie Forteza, Ruffa Gutierrez, Sam Concepcion, and Choi Bo Min. For Kyline, working with such a talented ensemble was a dream come true. "Exciting. Powerful ensemble. The plot that will keep you in your seats," she teases about the show. "To say that I am so excited to do the project would be an understatement."
It's her first time working with Barbie—a moment Kyline's clearly excited about, especially with all the growth the series promises. "Being in this series is like living a dream of the seven-year-old Kyline…Definitely, little Kyline has just checked one entry from her bucket list," she notes.

Beauty Empire follows the story of Noreen Alfonso (played by Barbie), a CEO who rises from poverty to seek revenge on the powerful players in the beauty industry who once wronged her. And based on their script reading clips, Kyline just might be one of Barbie's formidable foes on screen. "I've known Barbie for so long, and I'm a fan, but we've never worked in a drama together. I always admire her body of work, her acting skills, and her work ethic. I know that I will learn a lot of things from her and from my other castmates as well," Kyline shares.
That's just one of the many destinations Kyline has mapped out for this new season of hers. With over a decade of experience in the industry, Kyline's going through the motions of her career with more intention and purpose.
"I learned that not everything is for you. Some things will not just really work for you. Right now, my process is to get a role that I feel like will have a lasting impression, not just today but even years after. I want a role that people can relate to, and I can own," Kyline declared.

It takes a strong mindset, serious prep, and a whole lot of willpower to make it through a long journey (a long cover shoot in our case, LOL). So we made sure to keep things fresh, fun, and a little bit personal. Kyline got real about her path so far, describing it as "bumpy." It hasn't always been easy or smooth sailing, she admitted.
Still, she's keeping her eyes on the road ahead—toward where she knows she's meant to be. "I just protect my peace. There are days when you cannot just silence the noise, it's drowning. But, you cannot just sink, you need to focus again and float above the surface by listening to the voices that matter to you," the actress declared.
For Kyline, those voices belong to her family. As a breadwinner, her sense of responsibility runs deep—family always comes first. And clearly, that goes both ways. Near the end of our shoot, Kyline's mom, Rowena Alcantara, quietly stepped into the room to check on her daughter, just as Kyline was prepping for our final layout.

Not long after, Kyline and I found a quiet corner tucked away from the buzz of set, where she opened up even more—about learning to finally choose herself this season.
"If you asked me this before, I'm gonna say my family, my friends, me. But right now, it's myself, my family, my friends, and of course, my work,” she reflects when asked about her priorities in life at the moment. "Recently, I've just realized that you need to fill your own cup before you fill someone else’s cup. 'Coz that's the most important thing in the world—yourself."

In this season of learning to fill her own cup—of truly loving and respecting herself—Kyline’s making sure no moment is wasted, both in life and in work. That includes being mindful of the brands she partners with, making sure they reflect the version of herself she’s choosing to show up as.
For Kyline, that authenticity is key. It's not about trying to be everything to everyone—it's about staying true to what feels right and real to her. And while she admits that putting herself first is still a work in progress, she speaks with the quiet confidence of someone learning to give herself grace.
"I'm actually still learning. Again, it's not overnight. It's a lifetime process to really love and respect yourself 'coz there are times where you will really lose that," she shares with Cosmo.

As the sun began to set, it felt like time had slowed down, like we also had all the time in the world. The April sun turned out to be just right. Just enough to keep us going through the day, just enough to keep Kyline glowing.
In many ways, the spotlight shining on her now mirrors exactly where she is in life—it brings both warmth and intensity. Sometimes it illuminates, sometimes it burns. But either way, Kyline has learned to find strength in stillness, choosing grace over noise and composure over chaos.

It's no secret that she's been at the center of countless rumors and controversies, with the online world always quick to weigh in. And yet, through it all, she's remained silent—never once clapping back.
Were there moments when staying silent wasn't easy? "A lot of times. When the heat is too high and it's getting on me," she admits. "I've been bashed for the things that I did not say or do, or because I decided to upgrade myself, or just because I tried too hard. But, I was judged already before I even opened my mouth, so I'd rather have my small circle know my truth than be open in public and still be judged and bashed for it."
Through the noise and the challenges, Kyline stays grounded in what truly matters. "Kahit anong sabihin niyo sa akin, it's okay as long as my intentions are clear. I know my truth. And I know that my truth is the truth. You may have your own side of the story, but my truth is the truth," she proclaims.

Then, she locks eyes with me. But it feels like she's speaking to the rest of the world: "I really don't have to explain myself. You can say whatever you want about me as long as alam ni God, alam ng Panginoong Diyos kung ano talaga nasa puso ko. Kung ano talaga yung nangyari. I am comfortable with that. I can sleep peacefully at night with that. I can live with that."

As she takes a moment to catch her breath this season, Kyline's already gearing up for the next destination on her journey. Because at the end of the long and bumpy road she's on, Kyline is more than the controversies, more than the headlines about her relationships—she's an actress poised for not just one, but many defining moments.
In between our takes, the Cosmo team would huddle with Kyline to sift through shots—always with someone blurting out how gorgeous she looked. She'd smile, thank everyone, and then move on to the next layout.

In retrospect, that's exactly how she's navigating life right now. She pauses when she can (ideally by the beach, she says), then gets right back to work. Soon, she might be stepping into the world of music—writing her own songs as she's been discussing with a record label, or maybe she'll finally cross skydiving off her bucket list.
She could be holding an award for her role in Beauty Empire, or breaking ground on a dream home she's long planned for her family. Whatever it is—big or small—Kyline's defining moments are hers to create, and hers alone to own. And wherever she goes next, one thing's certain: she'll be out there, burning brighter than ever.

When asked what it means to shine in this fast-paced, ever-changing industry, Kyline says, "As long as my family is living a comfortable life, and I'm doing projects—not because I need to, but because I want to—along with international projects and playing characters in a more mature and different way, maybe that’s what it means."
She continued, "I hope little Kyline is proud of me because I'm doing all of this for her." When I told her that little Kyline would be so proud of how far she's come, she held back tears and smiled, saying, "Aww, don't make me cry."

In that moment, during our long summer day with Kyline, it became clear just how deeply she values her craft, her family, and herself.
We started the day with the sun at its peak—bold, relentless, and unshakable. As the day draws to a close with the sun nearing dusk, Kyline's glow remains just as powerful, if not more collected and purposeful.

Unlike a summer road trip, there's no exact map for building a legacy. But here's Kyline, showing up, unfazed by the changing seasons—confident, focused, and ticking things off her own itinerary.
"I just want to be remembered as the person who stayed true to her dreams, no matter how hard and how many hindrances there were. And, the person who fought hard for her place in this industry, who stood tall no matter how many storms came," Kyline concluded.
