Liza Soberano Just Threw The First Pitch At A Major League Baseball Game—And Looked So Good Doing It

For a second, you'd think it was a Hollywood star. But no, it was our very own Liza Soberano who took center stage at a recent Major League Baseball (MLB) game, proudly representing the Philippines as she threw the ceremonial First Pitch during the Dodgers vs. Mets game in the United States.

Her appearance was part of Filipino Heritage Night at Dodger Stadium, a long-standing tradition in which MLB honors and uplifts the contributions of the Filipino community. 

And for many fans, seeing a Filipina participate in such a widely recognized sports event was not only heartwarming but also historic.

ICYDK, the ceremonial first pitch is a symbolic act done before every MLB game begins. It's often assigned to prominent personalities like celebrities and political figures as a way to mark the occasion with honor. And for this game, that honor belonged to Liza.

Though it was her first time doing such a thing, Liza looked the part—confident, poised, and glowing. As expected, she served an undeniable face card and brought a touch of star power to the baseball field. 

"So honored to be amongst all my kababayans throwing the first pitch at the Dodgers vs. Met’s game for Filipino Heritage Night!" the actress shared. 

And just like anyone doing something new, Liza admitted she was nervous—but proud of her performance: "I was so nervous, but I think I did okay?"

Fans and fellow celebrities couldn't help but shower her with support. Michelle Dee and Iza Calzado were among those who left heartwarming comments, while even the official Instagram account chimed in with: “Pitch queen.”
