Loisa Andalio Recalls The Body-Shaming And Harsh Comments She Faced When She Was Just 15

When she was just 15, Loisa Andalio seriously considered leaving the Pinoy Big Brother house after the public scrutiny became too much to handle.
In her guest episode for Think Talk Tea Clips, she looks back on her time as a housemate during the Pinoy Big Brother: All In in 2014. Some of the comments she still remembers today were directed at her personality. "Yung bibig ko siguro daw ganyan. Matalas. Sobrang dire-diretso. Hindi nag-iisip kasi nga bata," she said. And others focused on her appearance. "Ang taba ko, biik daw ako."
The comments eventually took a toll on her and led her to make a heavy choice. "So sabi ko, 'Ayoko na Kuya. Gusto ko na pong lumabas' ganyan," Loisa shared. "Hindi pala totoo yung pag gusto mong mag-voluntary exit, papalabasin ka nila. Aawatin ka din nila kung ayaw ka nilang palabasin din talaga."
But even as she continued her journey in the competition, she learned the hard way what being on a television entails. "Doon ko narealize na porke't pala mga bata… bata ka nag-umpisa, hindi ka na pwedeng magkamali. Ija-judge ka na nila… Sa 15 years old, ini-expect ka na nila na maging perfect."
Loisa ultimately stayed until near the end of the season, which was eventually won by Daniel Matsunaga. And more than a decade later, she can now look back on that difficult chapter with a different perspective.
When asked how she dealt with the criticism she received, Loisa shared that she chose to focus on proving herself through her work. "Siguro mas ginagalingan ko na lang sa mga project na binibigay sa'kin para di 'ba, pakita sa kanila na deserving din naman ako," she said.
And in many ways, that's what happened. After PBB, Loisa slowly built her career in acting, making her drama series debut in Nasaan Ka Nang Kailangan Kita in the same year as landing her first film role in Crazy Beautiful You in 2015.
Since then, she has continued to grow both on and off screen, reaching her personal milestones. In November 2025, she married her long-time partner Ronnie Alonte. A month later, the couple announced that they were expecting their first child together, and by March 2026, Loisa welcomed a baby girl.
At the same time, her career continued moving forward. In April, she starred alongside Ronnie in the comedy film 3 Words. The following month, she appeared in Midnight Girls, a film set in Nagoya, Japan, alongside Jodi Sta. Maria, Sanya Lopez, and fellow former PBB housemate Jane Oineza.
For Loisa, the criticism became part of the experience—but it never became the whole story. What followed were years of growth, new milestones, and reminders of just how far she's come.
