A lot went down during the past few weeks. Ever since the Big Night, the Pinoy Big Brother ex-housemates have been all over our feed. Whether they're having their own moment with their fans or just poking fun at each other through their broadcast channels, the PBB: Celebrity Collab housemates added so much fun to our July.

With that, you've probably seen all of Mika Salamanca's song covers back from when she was still a kid. From Sarah Geronimo's "Sino Nga Ba Siya?" to Taylor Swift's "White Horse," she's done it all. But as much as we find it cute and funny, there's actually a heartwarming story behind those videos.

As revealed by Jan Enriquez, Mika's co-manager from Aguila Entertainment (she's also co-managed by Sparkle), the videos were meant for Mika's mom, Nanay Bambie. They weren't actually audition tapes, but they were made to provide warmth and love for her mom.

"During that time kasi [nasa] abroad na si Nanay at nasa Pilipinas sina Mika. So para 'di mangulila si Nanay e pinapadalhan lagi nila ng videos para maaliw at mapangiti ito," Jan wrote in a Facebook post, saying that he gathered the info from a recent conversation with Mika.

He added, "Kaya naman pala todo perform 'tong big winner natin o! cuuuute story! Grabe this girl puts so much heart in everything she does. Bless your heart our dear Mika."

So yes, the videos that have entertained us over the past few weeks were actually created for someone very special—one of the most important people in Mika's life: her mom. Guess it still serves its purpose, but for a wider audience now. ;)

Mika Salamanca after winning 'Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition'

In case you haven't heard yet, Mika won as the Big Winner of PBB: Celebrity Collab Edition together with her celebrity duo pairing, Brent Manalo. The two have been going on a press tour, guesting on various shows together, and hanging out with their beloved housemates in the outside world.

Despite her increasingly busy schedule, Mika hasn't lost sight of what truly matters to her heart—giving back to those who need it most. In a heartfelt gesture, the Big Winner donated her entire cash prize to Duyan ni Maria Children's Home and Orphanage in Mabalacat, Pampanga. She also took part in an outreach program last July 12, 2025.

She's shared that it wasn't her ultimate goal to win, but she did her best. Joining PBB was a move for her to reintroduce herself to the world. In an interview with GMA, Mika noted how her win now seemed like a "miracle" for her. Moreover, she affirms how much she appreciates everyone who voted and allotted resources for her and Brent.

"To be honest po, wala naman po talaga sa list ko gawin sa Bahay ni Kuya ang pagiging Big Winner. Pero in my head, if a miracle happens and manalo dahil sa taong-bayan, I want to give the winnings kasi, for me, to feel like I actually deserve it, I want to give it back to the people who put me here in the first place," she said in the interview.

She declared, "That's what I think a Big Winner should do."
Recently, the content creator was also included in the newest Encantadia Chronicles series called Sang'gre. And in an interview with Boy Abunda, Mika declared her desire to focus more on her career as a recording artist. After all, Mika's one of the housemates who successfully shared her talent for music throughout the reality show.
