Is Olivia Rodrigo Coming Back To The Philippines Soon?

In her recent Elle interview, the Grammy-winning Fil-Am singer Olivia Rodrigo got a little nostalgic talking about her 2024 homecoming show to the Philippines, where she performed for thousands of fans at the Philippine Arena during her GUTS World Tour. It was a full-circle moment for the 22-year-old pop star who's always been vocal about her Filipino roots.

"That trip was so special," Olivia said. "From a creative career standpoint, it was really cool to get to play for this city. And we got to donate all of my proceeds to this organization called Jhpiego, which provides healthcare for women and girls in the Philippines. That was really, really special for me."

The donation was part of her Fund 4 Good global initiative, which has raised over $2 million (around P117 million) for women's health and equity-focused nonprofits worldwide.

Beyond the good she did, it was also Olivia's first-ever trip to the Philippines, and she admitted feeling nervous about how she'd be received. "I kind of had a chip on my shoulder, like, 'Oh gosh, I hope they accept me and they see me as a Filipino and I'm a source of pride for them,’" she shared.

And Livies did not disappoint. Olivia said the overwhelming love and warmth she felt from Filipino fans instantly melted those nerves. "Being able to go there and just see how warmly they embraced me really meant so much," she added.

And just when we thought that was the end of it, she dropped a little bombshell: Olivia teased a possible return trip next year! 💜

"I love the Philippines so much and I can't wait to go back," she revealed. "I went to Manila, but I really want to go to some of the islands next year and swim in the beautiful oceans and see all the beaches. That's on the agenda."

While she didn't confirm official plans (yet!), fans are already manifesting a GUTS-era encore—or maybe even a tropical sneak peek at her next musical chapter. 👀 After all, she also confirmed she's back in the studio, working on "new sounds and new stories."
