SEVENTEEN Reads Thirst Tweets For The First Time—Now The Internet's Posting Even Steamier Ones

At first, it seemed like a distant dream for most K-pop fans for a boy group to read some thirst tweets. But here we are, living in the year 2025, witnessing one of the biggest K-pop groups reading thirst tweets about them. (Read: The Internet's losing it!)
It's not every day you see K-pop idols reading thirst tweets on camera—but SEVENTEEN just did it for the very first time! And whether it's fate or just perfect timing, they chose to do it in their 10th year as idols. Coincidence? We think not. In a new episode of BuzzFeed Celeb, SEVENTEEN's Seungkwan, Mingyu, The8, and Vernon sat down and absorbed everything, LOL.
The members admitted that they've been reading fans' thirst tweets for years now. ICYDK, the group's really active on social media via their Instagram accounts and WeVerse. We also have a hunch that they have burner accounts on X, so they've probably seen it all. But reacting to it in a video felt really new to them.
"When I heard we'd be filming BuzzFeed Thirst Tweets video, I was worried it might end up being too safe. I was a bit worried, but I hoped we'd get to do some fun ones. All the tweets today were really funny," Seungkwan expressed towards the end of the video, as translated by BuzzFeed Celeb.

Seungkwan apologizes for making ovaries explode.
He said they did some fun ones? Well, did your K-pop fave ever apologize for making your ovaries explode? Seungkwan did. Through the video, Seungkwan learned that his high notes make ovaries explode.
The tweet he got read, "BOO SEUNGKWAN SLAYED THOSE FREAKING HIGH NOTES! GOOD JOB, SEVENTEEN. YOU MADE MY OVARIES EXPLODE :""")" Same, girl.

SEVENTEEN learns the meaning of "legs divorcing."
The members also learned about the English word "divorce"—but in the most unexpected way. You see, it was used in this context: "Vernon's line in 'Water' by Seventeen was so sexy. Seriously, my legs are divorcing." Srsly, same again.
Seungkwan asked, "Why are legs divorcing?" So Vernon had to explain, "Like...they just gave out and went weak at the knees." (We think it's so much more than that, but OK, Vernon!) He even complimented it, saying it was actually creative!

The8 keeps it real about (hypothetically) spitting on people.
As for The8, he discovered that he could push and spit on people, and people might actually thank him for it. His reaction? The8 kept it real, and also kept the deluluness down, by declaring: "Don't think you should be thankful if I do something like this."

Mingyu is living his best life (receiving multiple compliments).
Out of the four of them, it seemed that Mingyu enjoyed it since the thirst tweets are basically compliments. And yes, everyone kept saying he's sexy and perfect ('coz he is!). But for one tweet, it came out a bit too much and funny because 1) it involved some licking, and 2) his abs were comparable to a buttered corn on the cob at a backyard barbecue on a hot summer's day. Not our words!
In classic Mingyu style, he teased that he'd let them do it in one condition. "If we can meet, but I think we can't," the idol said.

The Internet reacts to SEVENTEEN reading thirst tweets
We definitely had fun watching the video (for work and for personal reasons). A lot were surprised to see that kind of content from SEVENTEEN, too. Everybody recalled them doing a vvv wholesome puppy interview before. That's why, with the recent video, everyone's just gagged—yup, even the creators.
BuzzFeed Celeb responded to the fans, admitting, "girl we didn't think it would ever happen for a kpop group either. we always pitch and they always say no give us puppies lol."
Oh, we also have to tell you, those Protect accounts? They're closing down after seeing the video, LOL! Truly, we can't protect SEVENTEEN from anything anymore.

But TBH, some fans weren't exactly impressed, noting that the tweets weren't even that thirsty. They found it too tame and loving, actually. Meanwhile, others were convinced SEVENTEEN was subtly dragging them for their own thirst-tweeting ways. Either way, the Internet absolutely lost it. Fans came dropping even steamier tweets—some wishing theirs had made the cut, others very relieved they didn't.
While we could bless your day with some of the thirstier tweets we've seen other than the ones they included in the video (trust us, they exist), we'll just be here manifesting a round two—with the whole group this time. Just imagine it: SEVENTEEN reading even wilder thirst tweets while we collectively cringe, scream, and lose our minds all over again. Manifesting hard.
