Location: 227 Salcedo Street, Legazpi Village, Makati City
Mom will absolutely approve of the Vegetable Grazing Plate with colorful crispy veggies, sous-vide chicken, and a drizzle of their special, peanutty sauce 'coz of how delish it is—and of the fact that you're eating your veggies. Other Filipino-home staples are also given a creative twist like the Monggo "Tadka" or monggo cooked like an Indian dak takda, and the Duck Inasal and Adobo with duck leg confit smoked inasal-style and cooked à la adobo sa puti.

Location: Tower 2, Verve Residences Taguig City
You may not be able to get flight tickets to Singapore for Mom this time, but you can still treat her to brunch at a famed Singaporean spot. Tiong Bahru Bakery did not only bring over their flaky croissants to Metro Manila, but also their colorful, maximalist interiors and iconic intricately designed plates.
You can't go wrong with any of their classic flakey pastries like the Croissant, Pain Au Chocolat, or Kouign Amann. You can also opt for savory bites like with an Egg Mayo & Smoked Salmon Croissant or a Salmon & Spinach Quiche. You can also get coffee here for a delightful Sunday brunch.

Locations: G/F World Plaza, 31st Street Corner 4th Avenue, Bonifacio Global City; G/F The Stratosphere, 136 Valero Street, Salcedo Village, Makati City; G/F SM Mega Fashion Hall, EDSA, Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong City
If you and Mom love your Wildflour brunches, why not veer off that path just by a little with one of their sister restaurants, George and Onnie's? George and Onnie's focuses more on classic, home-style Filipino dishes done excellently.
Mom's not a big fan of pork? She's sure to fall in love with the Bangus Sisig, with all the savory goodness of sisig but also a tad lighter. Another seafood dish that's a scene-stealer is the Ginataang Sugpo—though Mom might love the tender organic squash braised in coconut milk more than the sugpo. Don't skip dessert, especially when there's the overloaded Halo-Halo, perfect against this summer heat or the tita-approved, not-too-sweet Bibingka.

Bistrot Le CouCou

Location: 2/F View Deck, One Bonifacio High Street, Bonifacio Global City
Do you and Mom want to have a dainty and demure mom-and-daughter date? You can't go wrong with the understated elegance of a French bistro. French cuisine might seem intimidating, but Bistrot Le CouCou makes it quite approachable. Plus, this resto is from the folks behind Nikkei, so you know you're in for quality food.
The menu is quite extensive, ranging from starters and hors d'oeuvres to meat and seafood dishes plus a pretty comprehensive wine list, too. If you've always been intrigued by the layered potatoes that made the rounds of TikTok a while back, you can get the real deal with the Pomme Frites with layers of fried potato sliced into delicate bites and topped with grated Parmesan, Herring pearls, and caviar. Feeling adventurous? It doesn't get more French than a classic Escargot with oven-roasted French snails stuffed with garlic, butter, and parsley.
For mains, go for the Entrecote and Frites with a ribeye caramelized in butter, topped with roasted garlic, and served with French fries fried in duck confit. You can also go the seafood route with Barramundi Amandine, which has barramundi pan-roasted in brown butter. End on a sweet note like the French do with Profiteroles topped with warm chocolate ganache.

Lunes Everyday Dining

Location: 6060 R. Palma Street, Poblacion, Makati City
Bright and sunny Lunes is the perfect spot for Sunday brunch with Mom and the rest of the fam. The interiors have the warm sunlit tones of an Amorsolo painting, and the wooden fixtures and rattan-backed chairs give off Filipino-home vibes. The food is just as homey and comforting with familiar Pinoy flavors given a fun twist. Their starters and mains are big enough for sharing. You can never go wrong with a sinigang—Lunes' version, the Beef Short Rib Sinigang, has beef short ribs in a guava-and-tamarind-flavored sour soup plus crisp vegetables and a side of patis. Another must-try is the Chicken Piaparan, a hearty curry-like dish with sous-vide chicken in a coconut-curry sauce.

Juniper by Chef Josh Boutwood

Location: G/F Streetscape, Shangri-La Plaza, Mandaluyong City
Chef Josh Boutwood's latest baby combines the convenience of mall dining with the understated elegance of fine dining. Juniper by Chef Josh Boutwood is quietly luxe but also not stuffy—you and Mom can dress up, but can also have a relaxing dinner out.
The dishes similarly are refined but with familiar flavors the family’s sure to enjoy, like the Chicken Wings, Koshikari Rice, Shisho which is Chef Boutwood's take on buffalo wings that combines Frank's Hot Sauce, honey, and miso. The Gnocchi, Pesto, Pancetta is comforting with tender gnocchi practically swimming in a savory pesto sauce while the Oven Roasted Chicken, Gremolata, Chickpea is a heartier dish that’s sure to be the star of the table (and your food photos).

La Condessa

Location: UG 01 and Mezzanine 01, CTTM Square, Diliman, Quezon City
La Condessa or the Countess lives up to her name with high ceilings, plush seats, and chandeliers that all exude grandeur. The al-fresco area is lush with flowers and greenery—Mom is sure to want to take lots of family day photos here—and the more private mezzanine is crowned by a gold-leaf covered ceiling.
While the restaurant is almost intimidatingly grand, the Spanish-Filipino food is down-to-earth comforting. Start off with the Xato Salad, a showstopper of a salad with lettuce, radish, torched corn, and fried rice paper and nori sheets, all served with a richly savory dressing of mayonnaise, tuna, almonds, hazelnuts, and anchovies. The classic Chicken Valenciana is hearty with tender chicken and richly flavored rice, while the Beef Asador is a treat with juicy striploin served with chimichurri and crispy smashed potatoes. La Condessa also offers a selection of tea and pastries for a sweet ending to a wholesome feast.
