She's Back Where It All Began: Myrza Sison Returns To Summit Media As Editor-At-Large

Published on Jul 21, 2025
In a move that feels both nostalgic and forward-thinking, Summit Media proudly welcomes back one of its most influential editorial leaders. Myrza Sison—who was also Cosmopolitan Philippines' first-ever Editor-in-Chief—has rejoined the company as Editor-at-Large, bringing with her decades of editorial excellence, a heart for mentoring, and a powerful mission to help shape the next generation of creatives.
If you've ever flipped through the pages of Cosmopolitan Philippines or Marie Claire, or religiously refreshed Spot.ph and FemaleNetwork.com, then chances are, you've been impacted by her work. Myrza helped build and lead some of Summit's most iconic brands during her 25-year tenure—guiding them through both their print heyday and the pivotal shift into digital publishing as former Group Editorial Director for Summit Media Online.
And now, after years away from the halls of Summit Media, she's coming back—not to pick up where she left off, but to help shape what's next.

Myrza Sison Is Summit Media's New Editor-at-Large
Since 2019, Myrza has focused on helping others live more confident, empowered lives—working as an executive and confidence coach, motivational speaker, podcaster, and Palanca Award-winning fictionist. So when Summit's leadership approached her about a new role, the timing—and the purpose—felt just right.
"When Lisa Gokongwei-Cheng, Howard Go, and Christine Sandejas met with me earlier this year to propose this role, it just clicked," Myrza shares. "It felt aligned with who I am now and how I want to contribute. It's the perfect way to bring together everything I've learned since stepping away—coaching, mentoring, personal branding, and creating content around confidence and self-leadership."
As Editor-at-Large, Myrza won't be back in the trenches of day-to-day editorial operations. Instead, her focus is the bigger picture: nurturing talent, guiding brand strategy, and ensuring that the values that built Summit Media stay relevant in today's fast-changing digital and content landscape. "It's closely aligned with my personal mission to help people build confidence and find their voice. And now, I get to do that by supporting the editors and creatives behind the content," she notes.
Summit Media General Manager Christine Sandejas adds, "This move affirms our commitment to train and empower the talent who will carry our vision forward."
Myrza's return also marks what she calls a deeply personal "full-circle moment." She says, "It's a dream to be working with fellow journalists who share the same background, passion, and purpose—to connect with audiences and shape culture in a meaningful way."

Summit Media President Lisa Gokongwei-Cheng is equally excited to welcome her back. "[We're] excited to work with Myrza again," she says. "Her experience working with Summit brands in the past and her valuable experience as a content creator and executive coach make her a powerful mentor for our younger generation of digital editors."
Summit Media COO Howard Go adds that Myrza "brings a rare blend of analytical rigor and creative intuition with a mastery of bold reinvention that will fuel Summit Media’s evolution into a multi-platform storytelling leader."

"Whether it's a story, an insight, or even a single sentence that strikes them, I hope it helps every reader or viewer feel seen, heard, and a little more confident in who they are and what they can do," Myrza declares.
"As a confidence coach and self-empowerment advocate, that's what I'm always aiming for—that the content I help shape doesn't just resonate, but encourages someone to take the next step, believe in themselves more, or simply feel a little less alone in what they're going through. Because at its best, media shouldn't just inform or entertain—it should remind us of who we are and what’s possible for our lives."
Outside of Summit, Myrza continues to host her podcast You Can Do This! and is currently writing two books: Join Lang Nang Join, a self-empowerment guide, and a short story collection.
