5 Of The Weirdest Tools People Use For Contouring

Scissors? WTF?

Thanks to Instagram (and the Kardashians) crazy contouring techniques have pretty much taken over the beauty world.

From extreme color-correcting to crazy clown contours, the art of sculpting your bone structure with makeup doesn't seem to be slowing down, any time soon.

And people have been going to extreme measures in the quest for Kardashian chiselled-out cheekbones.

From using tape to scissors, here's some of the more bonkers contouring techniques, we really don't recommend you try at home:

Tape

Beauty blogger Queen Huda Kattan shared this crazy technique on Instagram, using tape as a stencil around her cheeks, forehead and nose. Our thoughts? Messy tape and a PAINFUL peeling-off process. Nah, thanks.

Scissors

Using the inside of the edged blades as a guide, makeup artist Jose Martinez uses scissors to get a super-sharp contour. It's terrifying.

Toothbrush

Another whacky one, Miriam Marroquinn tried out the toothbrush technique on Instagram. Our verdict? Pretty pointless and we can't imagine the bristles being kind to skin. Pass.

Knife

Barbie Gutz scared us to DEATH with his super sharp angled knife contour. He claims it's the absolute best way to get a sharp AF contour. We're not so sure.

Spoon

Another Huda Kattan hack—this is one that we could maybe get on board with. Less dangerous than a pair of scissors or a knife, using a spoon gives a slightly more rounded angle. Still, you're really going to have to buff it out to get a natural looking finish.
