Make way for Living Coral!

Yesterday, Pantone announced that the 2019 Color of the Year is Living Coral! They described the hue as "an animating and life-affirming coral hue with a golden undertone that energizes and enlivens with a softer edge. Sociable and spirited, the engaging nature of Living Coral welcomes and encourages lighthearted activity. Symbolizing our innate need for optimism and joyful pursuits, Living Coral embodies our desire for playful expression." How exciting!

As the new "it" shade, we're sure you're already dying to wear this on your eyelids (and cheeks and lips)! Scroll below for some inspo:

  1. Anne Curtis

Pair a sweet pink lippie with coral eyeshadow to create a stunning color blocking effect.

  2. Janella Salvador

Add dimension to a monochromatic coral MOTD by using a shimmery eyeshadow on your lids and a lip gloss on your pout!

  3. Kathryn Bernardo

For a Korean beauty-inspired look, apply the glittery, milky shade on your lower lash line, as well!

  4. KC Concepcion

Just because coral is a happy, summery hue doesn't mean you can't make it look smokey. All you need to do is apply a black or dark brown eyeliner on your upper and lower water lines, and smudge it out.

  5. Sarah Lahbati

Look ~*ethereal*~ by gently sweeping a coral eyeshadow on your lids for a light tint, and applying liquid or cream highlighter on the high points of your face!

  6. Zoey Deutch

This light, universally-flattering makeup look can be worn on any occasion! Apply a ton of mascara on your lashes to ensure that your eyes are the center of attention.

  7. Irina Shayk

Amp up your coral eye look with a pink or orange eyeliner on your waterline. But before you apply it, squeeze a few redness-relieving eye drops into your peepers. This is so the eyeliner won't be able to emphasize any redness and make you look like you have allergies.

  8. Claudia Barretto

Here's an easy way to try the ~sunset eye~ trend: Apply a matte coral hue on your lids and blend it up towards the crease. Next, sweep a shimmery yellow-gold on your tearducts and lower lashline, and then take a red eyeshadow and use it to create a feline flick!

  9. Janine Gutierrez

Take your eyeshadow look to the next level with clear gloss! Dab the tiniest bit on your eyelids for the perfect amount of shine.

  10. Margaret Zhang

If you have rainbow colored hair, the key to wearing red and coral together is by keeping the rest of your face ~*clean*~. Natural bushy brows and subtle contouring and highlighting will help bring out your features without making you look heavily made up.
