Scheduling a beach trip is one of the most thrilling things about summer. You know what’s not? Scheduling your bikini wax. Here are our ouch-reducing strategies:
1. Pop a pill.
Aspirin or ibuprofen can help reduce the pain you feel and they have anti-inflammatory components, too. Just make sure your drink it about 30 to 45 minutes before your session to make sure it takes effect.
2. Know your due date.
For your period, that is. You’re more sensitive when you’re surfing the crimson wave, so schedule your wax a week before you get your monthly visitor.
Not all salons trim your hair down there, so if it’s your first visit, remember to snip-snip first to make it easier for your aesthetician to pull of the hair.
4. Bring feminine wipes.
Being able to clean your nether region pre-wax banishes bacteria, so you’re less likely to get irritations. Also, this extra step in the hygiene department will help you to feel less conscious when your aesthetician is all up in your business.
5. Pack extra undies.
And make sure they’re cotton. The fabric is breatheable and won’t irritate your skin.
6. Wear loose clothing.
It’s just convenient when you have to strip down to your skivvies. And the extra breathing room feel more comfortable for your coochie post-sesh.
