2015 Was KC Concepcion's 'Year Of Healing'

"Sobrang ganda nang naging personal journey ko 'nung 2015."

KC Concepcion gave a very heartfelt interview on Tonight With Boy Abunda where she shared how 2015 was her ~*year of healing*~.

The Kapamilya actress’ life took a dramatic turn when her maternal grandmother and “the love of her life,” Elaine Gamboa-Cuneta, passed away in November 2014, saying, “Every year, hindi mo alam kasi what to expect. So every year that starts, you’re always hopeful na parang, ‘Please, this year, please be good to us’—ganun lagi. And, I guess, 2015 was hard for me because nga December 31 is the birthday ng ‘love of my life’ ko growing up—who’s my lola.”

Her grandmother’s unexpected passing prompted KC to take on a very different perspective in life. The once super career-driven young woman made 2015 her time to slow down from work and instead rebuilt relationships with her family and friends.

“So when I lost her nang late 2014, sobrang first year ko ng 2015 to live life without her. So it was very eye-opening. Mare-realize mo kasi ‘pag may nawala sa’yo, [you’ll appreciate] the important things in life. ‘Yung 20s ko talagang work, work, work.

Hindi pa ako nakakapag-spend ng time sa mga reunion ng family ko. Parang ang reklamo sa akin lagi ng mommy [Sharon Cuneta] ko or ng friends ko is I’m always working. So, siguro, I just spent 2015 reconnecting with friends, with family. And sobrang ganda nang naging personal journey ko ‘nung 2015.”

KC ended her interview with some wisdom she learned through battling her grief,"Kasi ‘yun naman ang importante, di ba, at the end of the day, sabi nila when you pass away, you don’t say ‘I wish I spent more time in the office’ or ‘I wish may extra five minutes pa ako sa camera.’ When you’re at that point in your life, you’re just thinking of, you know, ‘Did I spend time with the people I love?’”
