Alden Richards Reveals Why He Always Gets So Emotional When He Sings 'God Gave Me You'

It's not acting, guys. He feels all the feels.

Alden Richards has been caught on video crying while singing the Bryan White song, "God Gave Me You" (here’s a snippet as proof!). The actor sets the record straight on why he always gets so overwhelmed while singing their Aldub theme song, and, NO, he isn’t just acting.

In a report by PEP.ph, Alden says that the song holds a really special meaning to him: “That song, 'God Gave Me You,' is very emotional. Yung song na yun means a lot to me, kagaya ng nasabi ko sa previous interviews ko. I was overwhelmed with emotions when I was singing that song. Marami ngang nagsasabi na acting daw yun. Well, it’s the opinion of others and I have to honor them. But in my heart, I know that it was true emotions kasi na-realize ko yung mga dumarating na blessings. Hindi ko inaasahan na ganito ako magiging ka-blessed.”

With Alden’s phenomenal rise to fame, it’s no doubt that no one is more #blessed than him. Well, except maybe for Maine Mendoza, that is.

Alden added that his late mother, Rosario, was one of the biggest emotional triggers he had while recording the song, “And naisip ko yung family ko, yung supporters, and most especially yung mom ko na naaalala ko that time. When I recorded that song in my album, I was crying while recording it.”

Awwww, we bet your mama is proud of you, Alden!
