Taal Volcano has been showing signs of some serious activity lately.
On July 1, Thursday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) raised Taal's alert status from level 2 to 3 due to its "magmatic unrest," which can possibly result in an eruption. PHIVOLCS recommended that that the high-risk barangays of Agoncillo and Laurel in Batangas be evacuated "due to the possible hazards of pyroclastic density currents and volcanic tsunami."
Amid Taal's "eruptive activity," Angel Locsin offered her home as shelter to Chito Miranda and Neri Naig's family, something which Chito shared on Instagram on July 2, Friday.
"Napakabait lang talaga nitong tao na 'to. Mula dati, hanggang ngayon... Sobra talaga."
Featured in Chito's post was a screenshot of Angel and Chito's text exchange.
"Chito! May kuwarto kayo dito nila Neri at Miggy at kung sino pa kasama niyo sa house, ha?" read Angel's SMS to Chito. "Anytime puwede kayo dito. Mabuti nang iwas kayo at unpredictable pa yung Taal. Plus yung smog."
Chito replied, "Oks kami dito. May shoot kami dito [sa] resthouse. Pero salamat sa pag-alala."
Angel commented on Chito's post, joking that their stay wouldn't be for free.
"Bored ka tsong? LOL nakatutok na mga camera tapos diretso kanta ka na sa Kumu, LOL."
To which Chito responded, "Tumatanggap din ako ng GCash at Lyka."
Even Angel's fiance, Neil Arce, joked that Chito would need to sing every night to "pay" for their stay at their place.
"Hindi libre yan; kailangan daw kanta ka gabi-gabi."
Chito and Neri are based in Tagaytay. The couple has several businesses in the area, such as a vacation rest house and a sunflower garden. In April 2021, Neri revealed that they decided to start living at their farmhouse in Alfonso, Cavite, for "healthy living."
Angel and Chito have been good friends for over a decade already.
