Anne Curtis Wins Most Influential Film Actress Of The Year Award

Anne Curtis has another achievement this year. The It's Showtime host had just been honored the Most Influential Actress of the Year award by The EdukCircle for her movie Sid & Aya (Not a Love Story). The film tells the story of a stockbroker named Sid (Dingdong Dantes) who suffers from insomnia and hires a woman named Aya (Anne Curtis) to keep him company.

According to its website, The EdukCircle is "an institution that provides a venue for the advancement and essential evaluation of communication practices in different academic fields." It established the EdukCircle Awards in 2011 to recognize personalities who have made "outstanding" contributions to Philippine television. The judges are composed of members of the academia across the Philippines.

Anne took to Instagram to thank EdukCircle for recognizing her work: "Thank you to all the deans, academic chairs, university school officials, and students for making me one of the MOST INFLUENTIAL FILM ACTRESSES OF THE YEAR for my film Sid & Aya (Not A Love Story) at this year’s @edukcircle awards! Love and light to you all! Sana when the time is right for you all, lahat ng 'I love you' ay maging love story talaga."

Sid & Aya (Not a Love Story) also gained success in the box office. According to a PEP.ph report published on June 13, 2018, the movie registered a box office gross of P132 million.
