Brands Refused To Dress Plus-Size Model For Her 'Vogue' Cover

Disappointing, but not surprising.

Supermodel Ashley Graham landed her first cover for British Vogue, and she looks fierce as hell. It’s been a pretty big year for Ashley; she’s been on the cover of Cosmopolitan, Sports Illustrated, Elle, Glamour, and Maxim—to name a few.

It doesn’t look like she’s slowing down anytime soon. Unfortunately, several people in the fashion industry can’t seem to keep up (or simply refuse to).

In her editor’s letter in British Vogue, editor-in-chief Alexandra Shulman revealed that brands "flatly refused to lend [them] clothes." Alexandra wrote, "It seems strange to me that while the rest of the world is desperate for fashion to embrace broader definitions of physical beauty, some of our most famous fashion brands appear to be traveling in the opposite—and, in my opinion, unwise—direction."

Thank god for Coach though, who quickly jumped on the opportunity to dress Ashley!
