Ashtine Olviga Is The Internet's Mutya For A Reason—And She's Just Getting Started

Ashtine Olviga is the moment. The 26-year-old Viva Artist is just getting started but we're already looking her way.

With her breakout role in Ang Mutya ng Section E, Ashtine has garnered millions of fans from around the world, a number of brand endorsements, and, of course, countless possibilities now at her doorstep.

Just recently, Ashtine was doing her press work as Ang Mutya ng Section E gets a spot on free television. Yes, the Wattpad book turned Viva One series is now available on TV5. Aside from that, Ashtine just launched her own perfume line under Viva Beauty. Indeed, those are remarkable blessings that are been added to Ashtine's overflowing list already.

But what truly makes Ashtine shine is her character. She's admired not just for her talent, but for her humility, simplicity, and unwavering faith in God. And while she radiates grace, Ashtine isn't immune to criticism.

In one of her recent interviews, Ashtine was honest enough to admit why she had to deactivate her social media accounts for some time. It all happened after fans noticed her wearing the same clothes for different events. This led to some backlash against her team, which Ashtine felt personally bad for.

"Nagulat ako sumabog online. Di ko inexpect. Yung mga tao tumutulong sa akin, nakakahiya sa kanila,” she expressed during an interview, as reported by ABS-CBN News. She explained that due to the tight schedule, they had a hard time looking and changing into new clothes. It was just that simple.

Admittedly, these were some of the moments when she felt "overwhelmed" of her fame following Ang Mutya ng Section E. She declares, "Ayoko mabago ako ng showbiz. kung ano ako talaga."

That's why when things get tough for her online, she makes it a point to make a move and save her heart from the negativities. "Feeling ko di ako strong sa social media. Parang feeling ko, minsan ikaw na gagawa help sa sarili mo if masiyado ka na na-bobother or masyado na pumapasok sa heart nakikita mo," she said. Agree!

But who is Ashtine Olviga when she's not the "Mutya" of Section E? She's an actress, a love team partner, she's a sister, a friend, and everything that she still wants to become. Below, let's get to know Ashtine!

She's a Taurus.

Ashtine was born on May 19, 1999. Yup, we're writing this on the day of Ashtine's 26th birthday—because why not? Years after officially pursuing a career in showbiz, the actress is reaping the fruits of her hard work now by being one of the rising actresses of her generation.

She's family-oriented.

If there's anything that connects Ashtine to most of her fans, it's probably the fact that she's family-oriented. She's been very open about connecting with her family in her Instagram posts and even her vlogs.

Another fun fact is that she goes to church with her family when she has the time! She has also been uploading snaps of her Bible studies online.

She competed in 'Born To Be A Star.'

Ashtine's journey to stardom wasn't easy. She had to go through a lot of changes in her career to get to where she is right now. One of her first steps into the world of showbiz was when she joined the singing competition, Born To Be A Star in 2016.

There, she opened up about her close relationship with her mom, who has always been with her during her auditions. "Kita ko po 'yung sinasakripisyo niya para lang po matupad 'yung pangarap ko," a teary-eyed Ashtine once said.

Although she did not win the competition, her short but meaningful stint in the show became a way for Ashtine to be discovered first as a singer!

She was in a P-Pop Group.

Ashtine's vocals and visuals made it to the P-Pop scene. In 2021, she was once part of LITZ, a girl group managed by Viva. One by one, the members pursued their respective careers outside their group. Nonetheless, most of them are still being managed by Viva. In fact, one of Ashtine's co-members, Heart Ryan, was also part of Ang Mutya ng Section E!

Now, Ashtine's successfully producing covers and even starring in music videos. One of her solo MVs recently was for the song, "Sa Bawat Sandali."

AMNSE was her first lead role.

Ang Mutya ng Section E widened Ashtine's acting opportunities. It's her first lead role, and now the Internet just can't stop talking about her and the series. Portraying the role of Jayjay Mariano, Ashtine acted alongside leading men Andres Muhlach and Rabin Angeles.

AMNSE is a coming-of-age high school series that tackles stories of family, friendship, and, of course, romantic relationships. When Jayjay transfers to a new school and lands in Section E, she meets best friends Kiefer (Andres) and Yuri (Rabin)—two boys who might just turn her world upside down… for better or worse.

A love triangle also ensues between the three characters, giving birth to two love teams: AshDres and AshBin, Ashtine's two pairings with Andres and Rabin, respectively :)

Now, with a newfound stardom and IRL friendships with her fellow AMNSE cast, Ashtine is moving forward with grace and determination. They'll soon be filming the second(!) season of AMNSE and fans from all over the world just can't wait for it!
