Bea Misa: The Earth Saver

This eco-entrepreneur is putting the Philippines in the spotlight with her earth-friendly shop that offers local, organic, and natural goods. Find out more about this Fun, Fearless Female Awardee!

Bea MisaAn exciting trend that we've been seeing more of lately is the rise of brands that offer organic, eco-friendly, and proudly Philippine-made products. One store in particular, Ritual at The Collective in Makati, has been singled out as a popular go-to spot for unique items that are not harmful to the environment.

Bea Misa started Ritual with her fiance Rob Crisostomo in 2010, and the two soon became renowned eco-entrepreneurs after being featured in Time Magazine that same year. The quaint, alternative grocery store sells everything from natural bath and body products to regional cooking ingredients--a majority of which are sourced locally from small-scale farmers!

Bea is very hands-on with her business, and she's always on the lookout for new organic and natural products to add to the shelves of her old-fashioned space, which also promotes environmental shopping practices such as using reusable containers instead of plastic bags.

We were fortunate enough to meet up with Bea recently at Ritual for her Fun, Fearless Female Awards 2012 shoot. Launch the gallery to see behind-the-scenes photos from our location shoot with this inspiring woman!
