ICYMI, BINI Mikha Adopted A Rescued Puppy—And Sheena Helped Make It Happen

BINI Mikha just shared one of the sweetest updates from her life offstage: She recently became a fur mom to a rescued black-and-white puppy after adopting from the Pawssion Project Foundation, a non-government animal rescue organization dedicated to giving abandoned and rescued animals a second chance at life.

Last June 22, Pawssion Project Foundation took to Instagram to share a glimpse of Mikha's successful adoption journey. According to the organization, the heartwarming story wouldn't have happened without fellow BINI member Sheena, who initially reached out to express Mikha's interest in adopting from them. They also revealed that the adoption actually took place earlier this year, writing, "Muffin was officially adopted last Feb but we only got the chance to post his adoption now."

Muffin is one of the puppies born to a rescued mama dog named Napay. And Pawssion Project Foundation stepped in just in time—Napay gave birth only a day after being rescued! After going through the organization's screening and interview process, Mikha officially welcomed Muffin into her family and renamed him Po. He also became the newest sibling to Mikha's three other beloved pets: her dog Shi Fu and her two cats, Haru and Nezu.

Pawssion Project Foundation currently operates two shelters located in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, and San Jose del Monte, Bulacan. At the heart of the foundation's mission is giving rescued animals the beautiful second chance they deserve—and now, Mikha is carrying that mission forward with her newest fur baby. She also used her platform on X to encourage more people to open their homes to rescued animals.

According to Pawssion Project Foundation's Instagram posts, the organization currently cares for around 800 rescued animals across its shelters. Since its founding in October 2018, the group has remained committed to advocating for animal welfare, protecting animals from abuse, and encouraging people to choose adoption over buying pets.

The foundation wants to ensure that every rescued animal finds a loving and responsible home, so they've implemented a thorough adoption process. It begins with filling out an online adoption form and scheduling an initial online screening with one of their adoption specialists. This step helps determine whether a potential adopter is ready for the commitment of becoming a fur parent while also serving as a friendly discussion about responsible pet ownership and proper animal care.

After the screening process, aspiring adopters are encouraged to schedule an onsite visit to either of the foundation's shelters. This gives them the opportunity to spend time with the animals and, if they don't already have a specific pet in mind, find the one they truly connect with.

Even after a successful adoption, the foundation occasionally checks in with adopters to get updates on their rescued pets. And as it turns out, Mikha has been doing exactly that. In their Instagram post, Pawssion Project Foundation shared a series of photos showing how Mikha cared for Po and helped him slowly adjust to life alongside her other pets.

She also shared a heartfelt note explaining why she chose him: "You were such a little baby when I first saw you, but when our eyes met, I knew you'd bring the brightest light into my life."

And as every fur parent knows, time really does fly when you're making memories together. Before long, the tiny puppy had grown almost ten times bigger. Mikha even joked, "You grew up so fast, you're bigger than Shi Fu already."

Earlier this year, in January, Mikha also said goodbye to her beloved pug, Yoda, who passed away. In a touching tribute posted on her Instagram Story, she described him as a "cute and fat ball of sunshine." In many ways, it feels like Po came into her life at just the right time—to fill a space in her heart and receive all the love Mikha has always so generously given to her pets.
