Miss Universe Catriona Gray posted a candid video on the Miss Universe Facebook page saying sorry for breaking the iconic Mikimoto Miss Universe crown. She starts off her video rambling about the things she loved about her homecoming parade in Philippines, “how there was a moving band and they have the drums, and it [made] me want to dance, so I end up dancing, even though I’m not a very good dancer.” Her tone is sweet and cute, very characteristic of how we’ve come to know the crowned queen. It is said to have 500 clear diamonds and 120 South Sea and Akoya pearls. Its reported value stands at $250,000 or roughly P13.2 million. It was unveiled in 2001 and has been used in some of the Miss Universe pageants since then.
