The 2018 Miss Universe complimented Rabiya in her "The Sun" evening gown on Twitter on May 15, Saturday.
"Our girl literally said, 'No sun in my natcos? I am the sun.' #AribaRabiya"
Rabiya wore a dazzling crystal-encrusted creation by UAE-based designer Furne Amato. Furne says the beadwork was "inspired by the radiance of the Philippine sun which symbolizes positivity and optimism." In an online interview, the designer shared how it took his team 10,000 hours to come up with four of Rabiya's gowns.
On May 7, Catriona reacted to accusations from netizens that she does not support Rabiya, saying she has reached out privately to the 2020 contender and that "not everything is on display on social media."
Rabiya is currently competing in the ongoing preliminary competition of Miss Universe's 69th edition, held in Florida, USA.
Here's a sneak peek of her rocking the runway in her glittery "The Sun" gown.
Good luck, Rabiya!
