1. Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick
They're one of reality TV's most-loved couples, but sadly it just wasn't meant to be for Kourtney and Scott. However, they're successful co-parents to three children and Scott still appears on Keeping Up With the Kardashians—he even attends family parties and hangs out with his ex's sisters.
Despite him constantly being papped with new women, we're still hopeful for a reconciliation.
2. Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony
J.Lo and Marc married in 2004, but sadly split seven years later. However, the couple have kept stayed close for the sake of their children, Max and Emme, and have even made new music and performed on stage together.
3. Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult
These two starred in X-Men: First Class together and soon become a couple. Cue breakups and make-ups, all while filming Days of Future Past, and then Apocalypse.
4. Blake Lively and Penn Badgley
She's now one half of our favorite celeb couple alongside Ryan Reynolds, but Blake's life could have gone so different if she'd stayed with her Gossip Girl co-star Penn. The couple actually broke up because they had to be in love on screen, but their GG romance certainly stood the test of time—they made it all the way to the end of the show together.
5. Johnny Galecki and Kaley Cuoco
The Big Bang Theory co-stars are now married in the show, but sadly their real-life romance ended in 2010.
They still care for each other, though—Kaley told CBS Watch! magazine, "It was a wonderful relationship, but we never spoke a word about it and never went anywhere together. Everyone was always asking, and we deny-deny-denied. And I'm like, 'Why am I denying this person that I love?'"
Johnny also told the magazine, "She's not an ex, she's a part of my life."
6. Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart
They didn't have the most amicable of breakups when Kristen was pictured cheating on her boyfriend of several years with married director Rupert Sanders. However, the pair continued to work on Twilight Breaking Dawn - Part 2, and the movie was an inevitable hit.
Kristen recently told the New York Times Style Magazine "People wanted me and Rob to be together so badly that our relationship was made into a product. It wasn't real life anymore."
7. Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger
The coolest couple around broke our hearts when they decided to end their marriage after two years. But just because they didn't make the perfect romantic match, didn't mean they weren't the perfect musical match. The couple voluntarily created new music together even after their split.
8. Sophia Bush and Chad Michael Murray
They were THE perfect couple when we were teens, so imagine our dismay when One Tree Hill co-stars Sophia and Chad ended their marriage of five months. They continued to star in the show together for four years, before Chad eventually left when the show was in its seventh season.
"At the end of the day, we're grown-ups, and I actually think it's interesting that when people split in a way that's unpleasant, they usually just go on quite literally hating each other—or the person in my situation hates the other person, whatever—but when you have to work with somebody for another half a decade, you kind of have to deal with it," Sophia recently said in a TV interview.
9. Adam Brody and Rachel Bilson
We loved them as Summer and Seth, and we loved them even more as a real-life couple. Sadly, it wasn't meant to be and the O.C. actors split in 2006—a year before filming ended in 2007.
10. Diane Keaton and Al Pacino
They starred in one of the most famous film series' of all time, but Diane Keaton and Al Pacino's real-life relationship didn’t make it to the end of the ill-fated Godfather Part III.
11. Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake
After Britney Spears DARED to break Justin Timberlake's heart, it took him a while to bounce back and find love again—but when he did, he chose the gem that was Cameron Diaz. The couple dated for four years from 2007, but split amicably in 2011. Shortly afterward they were both cast in Bad Teacher, and even had to film a sex scene together. We won't lie, it was a little bit awkward to watch.
12. Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton
Their relationship was explosive, to say the least. They married twice and divorced twice—the last time being in 1976. However, the Hollywood legends managed to put aside their romantic differences to work together in the 1983 play Private Lives.
