If last week's featured hunk from De La Salle Mike Advincula can swim the fastest, their rival school Ateneo de Manila University's Franco Imperial can run the fastest among our July Cosmo Online Hunks. A runner since high school, this 20-year-old hottie has since been hooked on the sport. The junior Management Economics major is a member of the Ateneo Blue Tracksters, considered one of the fastest team of relay sprinters in the Philippines.
With his lean body and sexy moreno features, you wouldn't miss him if you're lucky enough to still stroll the hallways of Ateneo these days. Refusing to be stereotyped as a jock, he's quick to prove to us that he's a well-rounded guy who can excel in track-and-field just as he can in academics: he's been on the Dean's List for two straight semesters.
Get to know Franco in the interesting Q and A below. Then check out his heart-racing photos in his running uniform (and out of his track shirt--reminding us of Jacob Black played by Taylor Lautner in the Twilight movies).
If you want him to be a Cosmo Online Hunk for a full month, be sure to click his photos as many times as you can. The more clicks, the more votes--and he just might be our next solo hunk this year!
What are the qualities of a runner that make you sexier than other athletes?
I can say that we're all lean compared to the buff guys. 'Cause we always run, we [burn] calories.
What music do you listen to, to get pumped up before a race?
Usually rock and hip-hop. I can't specifically say what artists but, yeah, usually that genre.
If you could choose five female celebrities to be on your personal cheerleading squad, who would they be and why?
I'd choose first, Minka Kelly, then Alessandra Ambrosio, and Jessica Alba. Just those three 'cause they look simple and they look kinda smart, right? Not like the typical maarte girls like Paris Hilton-type. I like those types of girls, who are really simple.
Aside from running, what gets your heart racing?
Just playing FIFA in the PS3.
What college guy sterotype best describes you?
I guess a regular athlete, 'cause us track people, we always stay in the caf in a certain table. People see us there, and we get stereotyped...
What would you do to get a girl's attention in class?
If she's really, really pretty, I would--first day of class, for example--maybe I would just say, "Hey, you want to sit with me in the back? I could take good notes and share it with you." That's if she’s really, really pretty. If not, I dunno, talk to her after class, just like that.
What would you do to impress a girl within the ten minute period before class?
I think I could, even if I suck at dancing, I would dance just so she could see my effort.
What top three personality traits would you find attractive in a girl?
Smart, down-to-earth, and just simple.
If you were at a party, which girl would you gravitate toward: a good dancer or a good conversationalist?
I think a good conversationalist 'cause I'm not really a good dancer. They'd just get turned off.
If there's just one question you could ask to get to know a girl you've never met, what would it be?
I think, "What are your top three priorities?" and judge by that.
What kind of clothes do you like seeing on women?
Well, I like girls who wear plain clothes, just shirt and shorts in the mall. Not really maarte stuff.
What makeup look do you like seeing on a girl?
You see the real beauty of the girl without makeup.
What would you do on a date if you only had P500?
I think I'd buy take-out food or go someplace where it's cheap, and just eat there.
Say you're in a cinema with the girl you like: How will you make the first move?
Maybe I will gravitate toward holding hands. I would say, "Oh, how do you find the movie?" then gently move my hand.
What's the sweetest thing you can imagine yourself doing for a girl?
It varies, it depends on the situation. I can tell you what I did na lang for the girl I really like. I asked my friends to take pictures of me with messages on a cardboard and stuff in other places in Ateneo. And then in the last message, I told her "I like you," and then I sent her that thing. Apparently it worked. But now, we're not really together; but usually, it works.
Stay tuned for next week's interview and gallery of super cute volleyball player Ja Sioson from UST!
