We must have spoken too soon last week when we said there were no signs the temperature's going down. It seems the rainy season wants to come in prematurely, but we’re not letting it stop us from seeing the rest of summer through with our third and final summer Online Hunk for 2011, Miguel Villafuerte.
You met him last week, when we showed you not just gorgeous photos of the 22-year-old wakeboarding champ, but also his breathtaking moves on the country's famous cable park, CamSur Watersports Complex (CWC). While wakeboarding is definitely this moreno hunk's first love, the entrepreneur and Political Science student who comes from the Villafuerte political clan is also into a lot of other sports and activities. "I like not staying idle, I like moving around, staying busy," he said.
Before our fave season officially bids us goodbye, we want to glorify summer by chatting with Migz about everything he loves about this season. He declares how much he likes the “Manila heat,” which he finds incomparable to the heat in the States, where he's currently in university. "Every time I’m in the States, I always complain, 'I wish I had Manila heat or Philippine heat right now.'" Read on for the rest of his fun interview, and don't forget to click through the new batch of photos of this smoldering athlete.
What do you love to do every summer?
I like staying active. [Aside from wakeboarding and surfing, which I also do in L.A.], I also like sunbathing and meeting new people and going out.
So, what kept you busy this last few weeks of summer?
I was just hanging out with friends, catching up with family and doing a little bit of wakeboarding, a little bit of partying, and of course, working. [And] since [summer's] almost gonna be over, I just wanna step everything up, like party harder, wakeboard harder, work harder. I'll also be going back to the States for a while, but I'll be back by May 18 and stay until September [before classes resume].
What's on your summer playlist?
I listen to everything, but recently I’ve been listening to hip-hop like Wiz Khalifa, Drake, Lil Wayne, stuff like that.
Where do you usually go during summer?
All over the Philippines. I try not to leave the Philippines ‘cause I’m abroad the whole year and I’m so bored. I [just] wanna be home with family. So I try to go around the Philippines, like Manila, CamSur, Daet [to surf], Bora, and I wanna go to other places like Baguio.
Where are your favorite vacation spots here and abroad?
Well, I might sound biased, but I really like CamSur. I don’t know, it's [just] home to me.
Where are the best places to surf and wakeboard?
The best place to wakeboard is of course CamSur. Our goal [for the new cable park] in Nuvali is to make it better than CamSur. I think we can achieve that goal.
Will it be bigger?
No, but it’s gonna be more efficient. You’ll see.
What was your most memorable summer?
Probably last year, 2010, 'cause for me it just keeps getting better and better. Last year was just amazing. I met a lot of really cool people that I’m really close to right now. And I also did a lot of stuff. We went to Bora with 50 people and it was just crazy (laughs).
Now, tell us about your most romantic summer.
It was just chilling with the girl I like. Everyday, wakeboarding, going around. It was all romantic and memorable, it was all blended into one, that’s why it was the best.
Have you ever had a summer fling?
Yeah, but not really serious. It was like, “Hey, let’s hang out. Let’s wakeboard!” “Okay.”
Watch for more photos of Migz and the third part of our interview with him next Wednesday.
