The Philippine adaptation of Descendants Of The Sun is really, truly happening, and Dingdong Dantes, who plays Captain Lucas or "Big Boss," the leader of the elite and fictional Alpha Team, gave us a glimpse into their preparations. He posted photos of him and the rest of the cast during their special immersion with members of the Philippine Military.

In his caption, Dingdong thanked his co-stars for being so "game" during their immersion at the Philippine Army's Special Forces School. He also wrote, "We give much respect to our uniformed men for their love and dedication to protecting our people and securing the land. It is true that we enjoy these liberties in society because the Armed Forces are in the frontline, risking their lives for us to enjoy ours, free from threat—may it be man-made or natural."

"That is why it is our duty as actors to represent them properly and as accurately as possible onscreen. And what better way to do it than by learning WITH them in their own school!"

The original Korean military romance tells the love story of special forces officer Captain Yu Si Jin (Song Joong Ki) who falls for Song Hye Kyo's character, Doctor Kang Mo Yeon. Their seemingly opposing values and respective jobs get in the way of their romance and, together, they face danger in a war-torn country.
